Fall 2024 - Sometimes I get things a bit backwards, like with Mary Catherine, I often think "wow, how on Earth did Mary Catherine choose me?", when, really the situation was "Mary Catherine chose the lab". I like e-mail, I find e-mail to be a welcome distraction from what I'm doing. What I really like though are special e-mails, the ones I wait for, the ones that change things for the better. That's what's happened since getting the "are you taking students" e-mail from Mary Catherine. Hailing from one of the states that starts with the letter "I", or "O", I can't remember, "MCGR" is the youngest of either 9 or 10 siblings, a fun fact. Another fun fact is MCGR joined our lab at 18 years old, yes, as a college graduate, at 18. MCGR boasts a dedication to perfection that is matched with a relentless work ethic. She has picked up where Emilie left off, same project, working together with Saniya and Fabiola some, mostly independently. In her free time, Mary Catherine wishes she was not in the lab on Saturdays and instead frolicing on the family farm back in Iowa. Or Ohio, maybe Indiana. She also likes climbing big rocks, eating all the sweets that Leah bakes up, and cooking with her family. Her very large family. Lots of cooking. Many pots full of stuff that is cooking.
